Renaissance of living: Eisenach social construction projects take shape
The Wartburgstadt Eisenach faces a significant transformation process in the area of housing construction. The municipal housing company Eisenach mbH (SWG) works on a total of six projects that concentrate on social housing and thus make a significant contribution to creating urgently needed living space.
background and goals of the construction projects
Mayor Christoph Ihling recently visited the SWG and confirmed his commitment to the city's urban development. "My concern is to close gaps in terms of urban planning," he emphasized, adding that a pleasant living environment should be created in all districts. The appealing design of the new buildings, which fit harmoniously into the existing structures, plays a special role here. The importance of social housing projects
According to Wilhelm Wagner, managing director of the SWG, these construction projects are promoted the creation of around 200 social housing. These are planned, including several living groups for people with disabilities. At the same time, thanks to state funding, the rental price is kept at a socially acceptable level of 5.65 euros per square meter, which remain attractive to the projects for broad population.
financing and support
Funding by the federal and state governments plays a central role in the realization of these construction projects. The financial means are provided by the Free State of Thuringia, whereby the binding to the socially acceptable rental price is an important prerequisite for a period of 20 years. This shows how state support decisively promises social housing in Eisenach.
Current project progress
As the mayor found during his visit, some of the construction projects have already been well advanced. The topping -out ceremony took place in Georgenstrasse in July, where 24 new apartments and 19 underground parking spaces were created. The cover is targeted for the end of 2025. In the latest construction work in the Fischerstadt, a supervised residential group including the social center of the German Red Cross is integrated, which will also strengthen the social infrastructure.
community and urban life
A special feature of the construction projects is the integration of shops in living rooms, such as the planned 800 square meters of sales area on Stedfelder Strasse. Here the new buildings break through the generally observed tendency of the decrease of shops in residential areas and instead promote a lively neighborhood.
Overall, the initiatives of the SWG illustrate, as well not only addressed the lack of living space, but also enriches the urban life. The Eisenach citizens can look forward to an attractive and sustainable development of their city in the coming years.
