Great fire in Klein Nordende: Trecker cannot be saved

On Saturday afternoon, September 7th, a significant fire occurred in Klein Nordende, in the district of Pinneberg, which attracted the attention of several firefighters. The fire brigades were alerted at 12.45 p.m. after a tractor on a remote field - far from the next buildings - had risen in flames. The sight of Schwarzen Rauchs, which rose to the sky, already suggested a serious incident when you arrive.

The fire brigade urgently needed water because the water supply in the outdoor area of Klein Nordend was considered challenging. As a result, the emergency services had to use special extinguishing vehicles with large water tanks in order to effectively carry out fire fighting.

Fire fighting on site

It quickly turned out on site that the tractor could no longer be saved. The fire brigade's prioritized task was to suffocate the flames and prevent the fire from attacking the adjacent grassland. From caution, the aerial ladder of the Elmshorner fire brigade was also requested. The situation required quick action.

With around 30 emergency services, the fire brigade managed to delete the burning tractor relatively quickly. During the extinguishing work, the firefighters carried respirator masks to protect themselves from the smoke and the toxic vapors that were released during the fire.

Fortunately, the hayman who was coupled to the tractor could be saved from the flames. This was a small ray of hope in the middle of the fire disaster, which can result in great financial pressure for both the affected farmer and agriculture due to the total economic damage on the tractor.

Technical problems as a possible cause of fire

The farmer, whose device had risen in flames, reported that he initially noticed the emergence of the fire, but his attempts to extinguish it were unsuccessful. A fire extinguisher who was present in the second vehicle, a baler, could not contain the fire. The exact reason for the fire has so far remained unknown, but a technical defect is suspected as a possible cause.

In addition to the two fire brigades, the police and the emergency services were also deployed. Fortunately, there were no injuries, which is an important positive result in such situations. The professional and rapid reaction of the emergency services ensured that worse things were prevented, especially with regard to a potential spread of the fire to the adjacent areas.

This event shows the urgency and necessity of effective fire fighting in agricultural areas where technical defects can have devastating consequences. The incidents like this in Klein Nordende remind us of how important it is to act quickly in the event of a fire and to have well -equipped firefighters available.
