The kebab from Thuringia: New taste experiences are imminent!

A Thuringian entrepreneur refreshed the fast food segment in a new way. Mustafa Demirkürek, the creative head behind the "kebab", has revolutionized the classic kebab with his innovative idea. Quickly prepared, in just twelve minutes in the oven, this baking doner is finished in no time and ready for consumption. For fans of the snack classic, the good piece costs 6.99 euros across Germany and is already available in Edeka markets.

A remarkable success-the first baking doner has conquered the hearts of many consumers in the storm. Demirkürek, who has already brought over 30 years of experience in gastronomy, is convinced that this is only the beginning. After years of improvement in the recipe, the offer will soon be expanded and there will be news that the kebab lovers can look forward to.

big plans for the future

The interest in the new product is incredible. Since the presentation of the "Donerback" in June 2024, after the perfection was worked on for 16 years, the product has enjoyed growing popularity. According to Demirkürek, the sale via Edeka runs excellently. But the entrepreneur doesn't just want to stay with Edeka. The expansion plans are large: in addition to the Edeka markets, the baking doner will also be available at Kaufland and will fill the shelves at Penny from the beginning of September. Netto and Globus should then follow at the end of September. Discussions with Rewe are also underway, which would continue to promote the spread of the product.

The ambitions are even internationally: Demirkürek plans to offer the "Donerback" in Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia. These steps show that the tradition of the kebab is estimated not only in Germany, but also internationally.

innovations for the range

With the success of the backback kebab in the back, Demirkürek is already thinking of further product variations. In a conversation with Thuringia24, he revealed that not only new flavors are being planned, but also new products. A doner kebab with garlic and another with chilli come first. In addition, the company plans to launch kebab drivers, Dürüm kebabs, kebab boxes and even a kebab pizza.

The palette is also intended to include vegan and vegetarian options, which makes the offer attractive for a broader clientele. This could be particularly important because the demand for vegetable alternatives in today's gastronomy is growing steadily. However, the exact schedules for the introduction of these new products have not yet been determined because they depend on the production capacities next year.

The baking doner not only becomes a new pleasure for fans of traditional fast foods, but also for those who are looking for quick and tasty options. Demirkürek’s approach shows how to reinterpret the dishes established with a little creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in order to bring them over time and at the same time keep the enjoyable character and variety of traditional cuisine.
