Daniil Khudiakov becomes a kickbox world champion: a triumph in Vienna!

Wien, Österreich - Daniil Khudiakov, the 17-year-old kickboxer from the Memmingen sports club "Herzblut", celebrated a spectacular triumph at the World Cup in Vienna and secured the title in the U18 class "up to 65 kilograms". The native Ukrainian impressed the spectators with an "absolute awesome idea" and scored two k.-o. victories and two clear point victories in his four fights. In the final he effortlessly prevailed against the Japanese title holder and only gave away one of a total of twelve rounds.

While Khudiakov lit up the spotlight, the tournament was less pleasant for his teammates. Lukas Volk had to be lost in the first fight against the later world champion from Italy, and Kerem Cetin lost to the master from Malta in an exciting match. Rüsti Köycü also resigned after a knockout against a Romanian opponent after his first opponent had given up. Despite the setbacks, there was a good atmosphere in the "Herzblut" team, since coach Stephan Jorek praised the outstanding achievements of his protégés.
