The summer holidays are approaching and many students are already looking forward to a trip abroad. To ensure that on-site communication goes smoothly, Studienkreis is now giving away a practical student language guide. The 28-page brochure in A6 format is available for collection free of charge at many Studienkreis branches – while stocks last.
The language guide teaches young people typical phrases in English, French, Spanish and Italian. Not only when traveling, but also when shopping or talking to international friends, the booklet helps you overcome language barriers and communicate confidently. The handy reference work relies on practical formulations and casual colloquial language, which is particularly useful in everyday situations. This makes language learning playful and directly applicable - even outside the classroom.
Not the brightest candle on the candlestick
The new language guide not only conveys classic vocabulary, but also wit - with funny sayings like "This guy isn't the brightest candle in the candlestick" or relaxed French composure: "Don't worry, it will work without any problems."
“With the booklet we want to encourage students to use a foreign language actively and independently,” explains Thomas Momotow from Studienkreis and adds: “Although translation apps deliver results quickly, they often only promote passive communication without the user actually learning the language.” A printed phrasebook helps you memorize important phrases, regardless of internet access or battery life - be it when traveling, on a student exchange or in everyday life. It conveys cultural peculiarities and colloquial language that pure AI translations often do not capture.
The student language guide is also available digitally to download or read online studienkreis.de/can-you-english. There, students will also find a lot of useful and useless English knowledge, for example funny videos and funny (d)English sayings and expressions. Free learning videos about if clauses, summaries and much more offer practical help.
Learning during the holidays
Studienkreis will soon be offering support – not just in foreign languages – with inexpensive summer holiday courses. Ten tutoring lessons are available as five double lessons for a total of 36 euros. “In return, parents receive affordable and reliable support and care for their children,” says Thomas Momotow. Learning only takes place during part of the summer holidays so that the children and young people have enough time for well-deserved relaxation. The students catch up on missed material, close gaps and repeat difficult content so that the start of the new school year is easier.
