The train station in Leinefelde-Worbis, Thuringia, has been shining in new splendor since a complex renovation. But an important facility is still missing: toilets. This leads to unpleasant situations, since travelers with an urgent need do not find a possibility to relieve.

Many passengers are forced to do their business in the underpass between the platforms, as there are no sanitary facilities available. This has led to the formation of urine puddles and unsavory smells that bother the travelers.

Isabell Kleiner from Leinefelde describes the situation as unacceptable: "The stench is unbearable and has not improved despite the renovation. There used to be toilets, but now it is an imposition. It has to change something!"

Both the city and the Deutsche Bahn assign each other responsibility. The rail spokeswoman emphasizes that the station building was renewed by the city and no toilets were planned. The city, on the other hand, explains that the station cleaning is the responsibility of Deutsche Bahn.

The city has installed a unisex toilet as a preliminary solution to at least temporarily accommodate travelers. Nevertheless, reference is made to the planned establishment of a public toilet system at the bus station, which is supposed to remedy this in the long term.
