Mobile energy for every application
ANSMANN awarded the Top 100 seal for the third time in a row
The ANSMANN AG, a leading company in the field of mobile energy supply, is pleased to receive the renowned Top 100 seal for outstanding innovation quality for the third time in a row. The award underlines the team's commitment and creativity to always meet the needs of customers with innovative solutions. Thilo Hack, CEO of ANSMANN AG, puts it in a nutshell: “The true value of an innovation only becomes apparent when it benefits our customers and meets their needs.”
Innovative projects are the core of the corporate strategy
An example of ANSMANN's innovative strength is the planned collaboration with Chemnitz University of Technology to submit a ZIM project (Central Innovation Program for SMEs) to develop a process that enables the replacement of individual cells in battery packs. This initiative is intended to significantly extend the lifespan of battery packs and represents an important step towards sustainable product development.
In parallel, the 'Smart Battery' project launched in 2022 has the potential to lead to significant business model innovation. By integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) into existing battery packs, this project enables continuous monitoring and analysis of lifecycle information transmitted to a cloud platform. This innovative approach opens up new possibilities for data-driven business models while improving the safety and efficiency of battery use.
Generative AI – a tool to increase efficiency
ANSMANN AG has been working with generative AI for years and uses it specifically to increase efficiency in various areas of the company. In accounting, the use of AI technologies enables almost fully automatic invoice processing, while in production, AI-supported image processing systems contribute to quality assurance by ensuring error-free assembly of cell holders.
Markus Fürst, also a board member at ANSMANN, emphasizes the importance of employee commitment: "We give committed and motivated employees at ANSMANN creative freedom to develop innovative products and services for our customers. This increases customer satisfaction and offers us competitive advantages, which secures the future of us and our customers. We are very proud that our work has been awarded the 'TOP100 Innovator' seal of quality for the third time in a row."
On behalf of compamedia, the organizer of the competition, the innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and his team checked the innovative strength of all participants based on more than 100 criteria from five categories: innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success.
ANSMANN prevailed in the scientific selection process and is now one of the top innovators for the third time. On June 27th, all of the top innovators of 2025 will come together in the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz for the award ceremony as part of the German SME Summit. Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate them on their success in TOP 100. The company will continue to make a positive contribution to mobile energy and a sustainable future through innovation and sustainable practices.
Since 1993, compamedia has been awarding the TOP 100 seal for special innovative strength and above-average innovation success to medium-sized companies. Since 2002, the scientific management has been in the hands of Prof. Dr. Nicholas Franke. Franke is the founder and director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. With 27 research awards and over 200 publications, he is one of the leading innovation researchers internationally. TOP 100's mentor is science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar. Project partners are the Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research and the medium-sized business association BVMW. The magazine manager magazin accompanies the company comparison as a media partner, ZEIT for entrepreneurs is a cooperation partner.
